How to read a short story critically
Most books deal with multiple themes, some more obvious than others. Can you analyze this picture in much the same way as a short story? When the story is told from a first person point of view, the narrator is a character which the author has created. Plot and structure The plot is the main sequence of events that make up the story. Has the author described the characters by physical appearance, thoughts and feelings, and interaction the way they act towards others? Is there anything significant about the conflict or its resolution? How do the events in each stage of the story relate to each other? The time is more limited.
